Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was in Greece then moved to England when she was 16. At Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA of Economics. When she was 21, she became the head of the famous debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student who was elected to this position. After the graduation ceremony, she became a well-known conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current politics. The fame she gained enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions on current events, as well as politics and culture. Arianna's fame started in 2003, after she was a candidate for an independent in the California recall vote to replace then-Governor Davis. In addition, she directed an Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th position on their listing and the following year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 list of media. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media company in 2011 after they acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she was close to her father it was her bond with her mother that shaped her entire life. In her early years, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which she's still known. at the age of 16 she emigrated into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she was a member of the college debate Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. She graduated in 1972 with a Masters in Economics. She was a journalist television host, as well as a columnist following her graduation. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
