Taylor Swift may be the most rare of all pop stars: an artist who was able to effortlessly bridge the gap between country and pop, conquering the globe. Swift removed herself from country music like a second-skin and showed that she was the most refined pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only singer/songwriter who knew how to be a part of the trending zeitgeist and take it when she went on tour. It was apparent in her early songs, particularly in her neo homage of Tim McGraw. On her album Fearless (2008), Swift showcased a writer getting to understand herself. Fearless was successful not only on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. The Top Ten songs Love Story & the hit song You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. However, it did well all over the world. Swift's new album Speak Now, released nearly two years following the debut, further consolidated this success. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. Over the next three years, her fame grew through the years -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) in addition to 1989 (2014-2015) during which time she entered a new world of pop music where her talents were already established. The popularity of her music grew after she changed her strategy with 2020's pared-down siblings Folklore (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
